ABOUT MATSURI
OUR STORY
Matsuri Japanese street food was established in 2021, during the global pandemic.
Owner & Founder Sayumi Udagawa completed her studies as a registered nutritionist in Japan, and has always had a clear passion for cooking and feeding others.
During the pandemic, she witnessed lots of people missing out on authentic Japanese food while international borders were closed, this is how the Matsuri concept came about.
From humble beginnings starting out with a small food cart on North Terrace selling only Takoyaki (Octopus balls), we now serve a larger variety of food at SA’s premier food events & festivals.
Our core mission has always been to create an authentic Japanese food experience for the people of Adelaide, and to share our love of food in general.
We hope to serve you in the near future!
